Realm Royale defaults every character to sprint
In other battle royale games, you can usually rely on a teammate to revive you before you get hit with a final blow. Things play out differently in Realm Royale. Once all of your health has been depleted, you will actually transform into a chicken that can slowly run and jump across the map. If you can survive in this state for 30 seconds, you’ll be revived. For those that kill you in a chicken state, they will get to loot your gear and will also receive an item,
Before you drop into a match, make sure you head into the options menu and get your Video and Control settings all sorted out. Assign yourself keybinds and keyboard controls which'll make things far more comfortable in combat, as well as give you much speedier key inputs too. Whenever you’re out and about looting, get into the habit of disenchanting absolutely everything you don’t have a use for. It only takes a second and you’ll start racking up Shards which you can use at the Forge to create the best equipment in the game. Essential stuff this, as bagging your Legendary Weapon fast can make a big difference.
Before you begin to play, it might be an idea to rebind your controls, especially if you’re playing on keyboard and mouse. The default key bindings are utter tripe and should be changed to something that you’re comfortable with, but realistically any button you press on a keyboard and mouse should not have you stretching your fingers too far. Those worried about mapping the sprint button need not be. Realm Royale defaults every character to sprint, so therefore you can have the Shift key as your movement ability instead. An Engineer, much like in other games, works well as a defensive option. However, when playing solo you will be a target. Play within a group of four and having an Engineer is a lovely addition. The Assassin is very much about movement with a faster groundspeed than the other classes.
The last small, but important difference in Realm Royale is mounting. All battle royale games require you to cross vast stretches of land to find gear and take out enemies, but many of titles in the genre don’t have a solution for the amount of time this takes. Thankfully, Realm Royale lets you mount a horse at any time to speed up your travel. It’s a small addition, but it makes running from forge to forge less of a hassle. Realm Royale also all about shooting your enemies and for this you'll want a mouse sensitivity that you're comfortable using. We'd recommend setting it at around 400 or 800DPI and tinkering with the in game sensitivity settings before testing it out in a match.
